The debut release as Get Still by Bill Arteaga. Spending the better part of 2019 writing and recording in his Chicagoland home studio, a collection of songs came into focus feeling cohesive and complete. Inspired by electronic elements and synth-pop leanings, and a healthy obsession with modular synths, themes of the songs include feeling lost in the world, running in metaphorical circles, and nervously/excitingly anticipating becoming a father. After linking up with Yuuki Matthews (The Shins, Teardrops) to mix the project, the songs found their own life. Written while anticipating a major life change, reworked and fine tuned during a time of isolation, the release of this project is a chance to reflect and dance and smile.
